Oral Diagnostics and Radiology

Oral diagnostics is the primary discipline that tackles the diagnosis and the planning of treatment of oral diseases.

Diseases of the structures within the mouth go far beyond decayed teeth and teeth alignment problems. As accepted worldwide, all soft tissue diseases seen in jaw bones and joints, salivary glands, tongue, and mouth fall under the interests of dentistry. While these structures and textures constitute a small area, they form an anatomically complex system. Many systemic diseases also show essential symptoms in the mouth. For example, in diabetes, gum disease progresses very quickly. Again, the frequent and numerous aphids in the mouth may be the first symptoms of Behcet’s disease. For these reasons, a separate department was born for the diagnosis and treatment planning of intraoral conditions, known as oral diagnostics and radiology.
